It must be true what they say about girls having a thing for bad boys, because despite all we've heard about striker Andy Carroll, we just can't get him out of our mind. And it's not just us, focusing on the sometimes violent striker recently acquired by Liverpool, who delivers goals on the pitch, as well as he does blows off the field! We could certainly do without the greasy half-up hairdo, but those chiseled cheekbones and his ballsy play designates Carroll for hottiedom! And thanks to his recently switching sides, everyone's sure to be seeing a whole lot more of him, and we bet he'll look lovely in red, certainly more so than in his former club Newcastle's jailhouse stripes.

Name: Andy Carroll
DOB: January 6, 1989
Birthplace: Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England
Team: Newcastle Liverpool
National Team: England
Position: Striker
Height: 6' 4"
Weight: 179 lbs
Star Sign: Carroll isn't your typical Capricorn as far as having respect for authority, but when it comes to dating he's a classic example. Capricorns aren't too good at personal relationships, and are typically unhappy. His ex-girlfriend, 18-year-old model Laurie Henderson, would likely agree. Carroll "allegedly" attacked her on October 14, 2010—slamming her head into the bathroom floor—after she discovered him having sex with her roommate Holly Richardson in the room next door in her rented flat. He claimed self-defense....

As a result, Carroll was court-ordered to live with Newcastle captain, teammate Kevin Nolan and his family, during which time his brand-new, just-delivered, £150,000 chrome-plated Range Rover was tagged with graffiti and torched by vandals in the driveway of Nolan's home.

Let's hope new girlfriend Stacie Miller, seen below with Carroll, has better luck!

Beckham Factor: When Carroll joined his home team Newcastle United in 2006—appearing as a sub in the UEFA Cup, and becoming the youngest player ever to represent Newcastle in Europe—he looked like the ultimate soccer hooligan; sporting a skinhead do paired with a sour scowl, and things didn't get better when a wispy 'stache appeared on his face soon after.

Now, at 22 both are thankfully gone. And though the long hair is some improvement, we prefer Carroll crop his hair like former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres, so we can see those cheekbones.

Similar to Becks, Carroll's talent was discovered early on, and just as Beckham eagerly signed with his home team Man U, Carroll's s devotion to Newcastle cemented his decision to sign with the club. United's former Recruitment Officer Peter Kirkley recalls, "He was an outside left then, but he was a prolific goalscorer even from that position. We brought him down to the Academy, he did well and so we stuck by him. When it came to signing him on a scholarship, both us and Sunderland wanted to sign him, but there was never any doubt about us getting him." "He was a Newcastle fan and he wanted to play for us."

Sugar Daddy: At the age of 9, a tiny Carroll began on the path to his professional football future as a member of the Redheugh Boys' Club, then moved on to Low Fell Juniors, playing as a left-sided midfielder. He served as a Newcastle ball boy from age 12 to 14, when Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand and Duncan Ferguson were the team's strikers, who inspired and taught Andy as he watched them play! When he became too old to retrieve balls, he bought season tickets to follow his favorite team from the stands.

It was quite a surprise then to many devoted Newcastle fans when Liverpool signed the striker to a £35 million contract—the highest transfer fee for an English player, ever, and ninth highest for any player—and he left! Though this makes Carroll a proverbial cash cow for any ladies hoping to milk a hottie, keep in mind that your life may be at risk, and legal fees are likely to abound, cutting into any settlement you'll ever see. Carroll also is father to a baby girl, Emilee Rose, born in September 2009—so we hope you like kids.

Tag Team: Well hands down the clear choice is our inspiration for this nomination was the lovely Fernando Torres—who was nominated long ago but we were too shallow to get beyond his stringy, half blond hair—but alas he was whisked away to Chelsea, where the bright blue kit is doing nothing for him. Instead, we'll give a nod to Gerrard as fellow team hottie! Though a little stocky for our taste, Gerrard has a dynamic quality that is hard to ignore—and has been suggested as a hottie many times by several straight, male Liverpool fan friends.

Recent Accolade: Though Carroll wasn't initially stoked about leaving Newcastle—having communicated with Steve Wraith, Newcastle's fanzine editor, "They have kind of said we don't want u, but want me to say I wanna go. And I said I don't wanna go." Carroll continued, saying, "They said they wanted the money. Gutted to be leaving my home club but I was practically told to go. Don't want to leave. That's why I signed five-year deal." But there are some highlights to Carroll's move to Liverpool; he was also bestowed with the honor of wearing kit number 9—his number at Newcastle, as well as Alan Shearer's—ripped perhaps off the back of Torres as they kicked him out the door. Only time will tell if Carroll can live up to the prestige of being a number 9 striker. Currently, we're just happy to see Andy fit enough to leave the bench—even if he was wearing Liverpool's black and gold away kit, rather than the red!

Playtime: On the pitch, Carroll is a beast, focused on scoring no matter what. However, his penchant for antics off the pitch, are a sad reminder that we have a soft spot for psychos! {sigh} Trouble and Andy go hand-in-hand! When he isn't breaking curfew, he's breaking jaws—notably former Newcastle teammate Steven Taylor's in May 2010, resulting from a fight over Andy sexting Taylor's ex; which left Carroll with a broken hand.

And when that become boring, Andy mixes it up by smashing a glass into a man's face outside a Newcastle nightclub after a brawl within, or, as mentioned above, committing numerous accounts of assault on multiple women. Recently, perhaps in an attempt to stay out of trouble, and heed Liverpool doctors warnings over the dangers of alcohol, Carroll took in a concert for Irish boy band Boyzone with manager Kenny Dalglish, without a beer in hand.

Andy is working hard to justify the move to Liverpool, and it's looking lovely while doing it. Tune in today, Thursday, March 17th, to see him and Liverpool take on Sporting Braga at 4pm.
